Can Peninsula congregations work together to make our churches, homes and community more eco-friendly? Rev. Pat Watkins, a Methodist minister and the Director of Virginia Interfaith Power and Light in Richmond, is coming to talk about God’s call to care for the earth. We will also talk about the possibility of joining together in a group, “God’s Earth Ministry of the Peninsula.” The group’s mission will be to educate, inspire and encourage one another in our congregations’ efforts to save money and reduce our carbon footprint.  Please contact the church office if you are interested.

Mark your calendars now and plan to attend. The program will be the video The Latino Underground, a documentary filmed by Virginia Public Television in late 2007. It examines the issue of why immigrants cross the border illegally and the effect it has in Virginia and nationally. This is an opportunity to learn more about this issue as we and our legislators struggle to come up with solutions that are fair and just.
